天津科技大学食品科学与工程学院位于天津市滨海新区,毗邻滨海—中关村科技园、国际医药研究院,为助力学院人才培养、科技成果转化、创新创业发展搭建了良好的平台。
学院始建于1958年,是我国最早建立食品科学与工程学科的院系之一。拥有食品科学与工程一级学科博士学位授权点和一级学科硕士学位授权点,公共卫生与预防医学一级学科硕士学位授权点,生物医药专业博士学位授权点,2个专业硕士学位授权点以及博士后流动站,本科设有食品科学与工程、食品质量与安全、食品营养与健康3个本科专业,拥有2个国家级一流专业,连续4次通过国家工程教育认证、2次通过美国IFT认证,现有本科生1144名,研究生1646名。
学科建设
学院将以学科发展为引领,其中食品科学与工程获重点支持并入选教育部优先发展学科,天津市一流学科、天津市“重中之重”建设学科、天津市高校顶尖学科培育计划、天津市服务产业特色学科群核心学科。第四轮、第五轮学科评估中,本学科整体水平位列B+。“软科世界一流学科排名”食品学科排名第27位,U.S.NEWS世界大学食品学科评价排名第38位。本学科所发文章被引贡献度排名第一,论文高产出及高影响力作者TOP20中,有15位为学院本学科教师。
师资力量
学院不断深化教师人事制度改革,已建成一支学缘结构多元、梯队层次合理的高水平师资队伍,现有教职151人,专任教师116,其中教授36名,副教授55名。90%以上教师具有博士学位,80%以上教师具有国外留学、工作和交流经历。拥有国家级人才17人次;天津市特聘教授、天津市教学名师等省部级人才43人次。6位教师入选全球2%顶尖科学家。为高层次人才培养和科学研究奠定了坚实基础。
人才培养
学院坚持以学生为中心,全面落实立德树人根本任务,积极推进质量工程建设和教育教学改革,取得明显成效。近年来,学院师生在各种创新创业竞赛中取得了显著的成绩,学生先后在“挑战杯”、“互联网+”等大赛中荣获国家级、省部级奖励100余项,在第一届全国博士后创新创业大赛中荣获国家金奖1项、银奖1项,在国际知名期刊发表论文数百篇,涌现出了中国大学生自强之星标兵、全国高校百名研究生党员、天津青年五四奖章获得者、感动校园天津市大学生年度人物、标兵等优秀研究生。
科学研究
学院勇担行业中坚,提升服务国计民生水平,建有食品营养与安全国家重点实验室、食品科学国家级实验教学示范中心、食品营养与安全和药物化学国际科技合作基地等6个国家级教学科研平台;教育部食品生物技术工程研究中心、天津市食品质量与健康重点实验室、工信部食品企业质量安全检测技术示范中心等19个省部级科研教学平台;与国内多家知名企业建立战略联盟,共建多个企业实践基地。
学院实验面积1.5万平方米,建有6个研究中心和一个公共分析平台,实验设备总值超过2.2亿元人民币。此外,由学校、学院及国家重点实验室共建的分析测试中心与学院位于“逸夫楼”同一建筑,拥有近3000多平方米实验室,拥有球差电子显微镜、透射电子显微镜、离子阱飞行时间串联质谱仪、核磁共振波谱仪、基质辅助激光解析电离飞行时间质谱仪等50多台套大型精密仪器,为食品安全研究及其他分析测试前沿科学研究提供了充分的设备条件。

College of Food Science and Engineering
The School of Food Science and Engineering at Tianjin University of Science and Technology is located in Binhai New Area, Tianjin, adjacent to Binhai Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park and the International Medical Research Institute. It has built a good platform to assist the college in talent cultivation, technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship development.
The college was founded in 1958 and is one of the earliest departments in China to establish the discipline of food science and engineering. We have doctoral degree authorization points and master's degree authorization points in the first level disciplines of food science and engineering, public health and preventive medicine, biomedicine, two professional master's degree authorization points, and a postdoctoral flow station. Our undergraduate program includes three undergraduate majors: food science and engineering, food quality and safety, and food nutrition and health, with two national first-class majors. We have passed the national engineering education certification four times in a row and the US IFT certification twice. Currently, we have 1144 undergraduate students and 1646 graduate students.
Discipline construction
The college will be led by the development of disciplines, among which food science and engineering will receive key support and be selected as a priority development discipline by the Ministry of Education, a first-class discipline in Tianjin, a "top priority" construction discipline in Tianjin, a top discipline cultivation plan for Tianjin universities, and a core discipline of Tianjin's service industry characteristic discipline group. In the fourth and fifth rounds of subject evaluation, the overall level of this discipline ranked B+. The food discipline ranks 27th in the "World Class Ranking of Soft Science" and 38th in the U.S. NEWS World University Food Discipline Evaluation. The articles published in this discipline rank first in terms of citation contribution, and among the top 20 authors with high output and influence, 15 of them are teachers in the discipline of the college.
Faculty strength
The college continues to deepen the reform of the teacher personnel system and has built a high-level faculty team with diverse academic backgrounds and reasonable hierarchical levels. There are currently 151 teaching staff and 116 full-time teachers, including 36 professors and 55 associate professors. More than 90% of teachers have a doctoral degree, and over 80% of teachers have experience studying, working, and exchanging abroad. Having 17 national level talents; 43 provincial and ministerial level talents, including Tianjin Distinguished Professors and Tianjin Teaching Masters. Six teachers were selected as the top 2% of global scientists. This has laid a solid foundation for the cultivation of high-level talents and scientific research.
Personnel Training
The college adheres to student-centered approach, fully implements the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents, actively promotes quality engineering construction and educational reform, and has achieved significant results. In recent years, teachers and students of the college have made remarkable achievements in various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. Students have won more than 100 national, provincial and ministerial awards in the "Challenge Cup", "Internet plus" and other competitions. They have won one national gold award and one silver award in the first National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Hundreds of papers have been published in internationally renowned journals. Outstanding graduate students such as the star of self-improvement of Chinese college students, 100 graduate student party members in national colleges and universities, the winner of the May 4th Youth Medal in Tianjin, and the person of the year and pacesetter of Tianjin college students who moved the campus have emerged.
Scientific Research
The college is the backbone of the industry, improves the level of serving the national economy and the people's livelihood, and has established six national teaching and research platforms, including the State Key Laboratory for food nutrition and safety, the national experimental teaching demonstration center for food science, and the international scientific and technological cooperation base for food nutrition and safety and pharmaceutical chemistry; 19 provincial and ministerial level scientific research and teaching platforms, including the Food Biotechnology Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Food Quality and Health, and the Demonstration Center for Quality and Safety Testing Technology of Food Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Establish strategic alliances with multiple well-known domestic enterprises and jointly build multiple enterprise practice bases.
The college has an experimental area of 15000 square meters, with 6 research centers and a public analysis platform. The total value of experimental equipment exceeds 220 million yuan. In addition, the analysis and testing center jointly built by the school, the college and the State Key Laboratory is located in the same building as the college in the "Shaw Building". It has nearly 3000 square meters of laboratories, more than 50 sets of large precision instruments, including spherical aberration electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, ion trap time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometer, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer, which provide sufficient equipment conditions for food safety research and other cutting-edge scientific research in analysis and testing.
Future Prospects
The college will be led by disciplinary development, oriented towards national major strategies, and at the forefront of food technology and industry development. Its core tasks will be professional talent cultivation, theoretical and technological innovation, clarifying the positioning of high-level characteristic disciplines, and promoting the integration of "disciplines and majors" to achieve scientific, innovative and sustainable development of discipline construction, education and teaching, and talent cultivation. The aim is to build a first-class college with good foundation, strong advantages, wide coverage and great influence among similar disciplines in China.
