Wang Min, a member of the Party Standing Committee and vice president of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, attended the meeting. Representatives of relevant teachers from the School of Food Science and Engineering and the School of Biotechnology of our university, as well as young scientists and experts from multiple universities, research institutes, and industrial frontlines across the country, gathered together to conduct in-depth exchanges on innovative technologies in agricultural product bioprocessing and high-quality industrial development.
Wang Min, on behalf of the school, extended warm welcome and gratitude to the guests present. She pointed out that agricultural product bio-processing is an important link connecting agriculture, food, and biotechnology manufacturing, and is a key direction for promoting agricultural modernization and developing new quality productive forces. The school has long focused on advantageous fields such as food science, bioengineering, and synthetic biology, continuously strengthening the integration of industry, academia, and research, and actively serving national food security, Healthy China, and the high-quality development strategy of agriculture. She stated that the school, taking this salon as an opportunity, will further build a platform for exchanges and cooperation among young scientific and technological talents, promote the generation of original results and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and help the agricultural product bio-processing industry develop towards higher-end, intelligent, and green directions.
The conference specially invited Professor Wang Shouwei, the chief scientist of the China Comprehensive Research Center for Meat and Food, to deliver a special report titled "Trends and Industrial Prospects of Future Food Protein Technology". He systematically expounded the development directions of alternative proteins and future food. Professor Zhang Lei from the Institute of Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology of Tianjin University shared the cutting-edge applications of synthetic biology in food processing. In the exchange and discussion session, young scientists present discussed in depth on topics such as "Iterative Upgrade of Brewing Industry", "Breakthroughs in Bioprocessing Technology", and "High Value Utilization of Agricultural By-products".
The holding of this seminar has provided a high-level communication platform for young scientific and technological talents in the field of agricultural product bioprocessing. It fully demonstrates the university's advantages in talent cultivation and scientific innovation in the field of food and bioprocessing, and has also injected new impetus into the high-quality development of China's agricultural product bioprocessing industry.
