The college of food engineering and biotechnology sent
representatives to participant the 2018 IFT conference in the US.

IFT is a non-profit scientific society，which provides high-quality, relevant and essential education for food industry professionals from all over the world. At present, only six universities’ food education in China have been approved by IFT. In 2015, the education of Food Science and Technology in Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST) successfully accredited by IFT and has actively maintained contacts and communication with foreign countries along.
From July 13 to 19, 2018, a TUST delegation composed of Vice Dean, Prof. Zhou Zhongkai and Director of the Department of Food Science and Engineering, Prof. Wang Jianming were invited to attend IFT18 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The IFT18 event attracted more than 20,000 participants from food companies, universities, research centers, governments and related industries, featuring more than 1,200 educational conferences, including application and science conferences, poster presentations, professional development seminars and so on. More than 1000 participating companies exhibited raw materials, equipment, applications, products and services in all aspects of the food industry.
During this great conference, our delegation actively took advantage of this opportunity to communicate with international food science, technology and processing professionals, which will definitely benefit the professional education in food science and engineering in the future.
