The first board meeting of the Food Science and Engineering College of Tianjin University of Science and Technology was successfully held.

On November 12th, the first annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the School of Food Science and Engineering of Tianjin University of Science and Technology was grandly held at the IFF Shanghai Innovation Research and Development Center. Lu Fuping, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and President of the university, Li Yongjing, the global Vice President and President of the Asia-Pacific region of IFF, Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors and outstanding alumnus, leaders of each member unit of the board of Directors and the person in charge of the Shanghai Alumni Association attended the meeting. Relevant responsible persons from the Center for Alumni and Fund Affairs Development, the Graduate School, the Technology Transfer Center and the College of Food Science and Engineering also attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Du Xinjun, the Party Secretary of the College of Food Science and Engineering.
At the opening ceremony, Lu Fuping and Li Yongjing delivered speeches on behalf of the school and the organizing unit respectively. Lu Fuping, in his speech, extended a warm welcome to all the guests present and expressed his gratitude to the board of directors for its strong support for the school's various works over the past year. Lu Fuping gave a detailed account of the current basic situation of the school's development. He pointed out that under the guidance of the current "Pioneer Plan", the entire school has been striving hard, taking the lead, actively strengthening in-depth cooperation with enterprises, and steadily promoting school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration with practical actions, achieving rich results and making beneficial practical explorations for building a "Pioneer ecosystem". As a priority development disciplin of the university, the development of the College of Food Science and Engineering cannot be separated from the strong support of various enterprises. We look forward to all director units continuously deepening their comprehensive cooperation with the College of Food Science and Engineering to achieve a win-win situation in talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation.
Li Yongjing, in his speech, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation from the school and all the board units. He sincerely thanked the school for providing a good communication platform for alumni and board enterprises over the years. He hoped that all alumni and board enterprises would care about and support the development of their Alma mater and work together to promote the high-quality and connotative development of the school.
At the meeting, Lu Fuping presented appointment letters to the representatives of the two newly added board enterprises, Shanghai Tuofeng Pudao Health Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Beijing Heston Fluid Technology Co., LTD.
Xia Xiaole, the academic dean of the College of Food Science and Engineering, delivered the annual report of the board of directors from four aspects: an introduction to the college, an overview of the board of directors, collaborative education, and employment services.
At the meeting, the guests from each director unit spoke one by one and engaged in exchanges and interactions. Four board units, namely Yipin Dairy Group, Shanghai Jingcheng Food Co., LTD., Hefei Oulijie Intelligent Equipment System Co., Ltd. and Youkuixi New Materials Technology (Shanghai) Co., LTD., conducted a special exchange.
Cheng Dai, the vice dean of the Graduate School of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and Li Shuhong, the vice dean of the College of Food Science and Engineering, respectively shared their experiences on the topics of "Exploration and Practice of Cultivating Outstanding Engineers in Biology and Medicine at Tianjin University of Science and Technology" and "Research Achievements of the R&D Innovation Team for Agricultural Product Processing Technology and Equipment".
After the meeting, the attending guests visited the IFF Shanghai Innovation R&D Center and had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development of the industry.
The convening of the first annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the College of Food Science and Engineering has established a good communication platform between the college and the board units, and it is a practical exploration of the college to promote the construction of a "pioneer ecosystem". In the future, the college will continue to thoroughly implement the "Pioneer Plan", fully leverage the platform advantages of the board of directors, deepen the integration of industry, academia and research with enterprises, achieve win-win cooperation, and provide strong support for the high-quality and connotative development of the school.
