Recently, the "Third Strong Agriculture Youth National Conditions Training Class", jointly organized by the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Chinese Society of Agricultural Science, and hosted by Tianjin University of Science and Technology, with the assistance of Nankai University and the Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, was successfully launched. More than 400 strong agricultural talents and young talents from agricultural colleges and research institutes across the country gathered at our school for a three-day study and research on national conditions.

At the opening ceremony, Bai Haili, the Party Secretary of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Yang Guoxing, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Science, and Guo Yongze, the Vice President of the Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, delivered speeches respectively, congratulating the successful opening of the third session of the Strong Agriculture Youth National Conditions Research Class. In his speech, Bai Haili extended a warm welcome to all the experts and guests present at the meeting. He introduced our school's distinctive educational feature of "persisting in expanding the characteristics of light industry, meticulously cultivating the backbone of the industry, and resolutely serving the national economy and people's livelihood", as well as the situation of our school's agricultural science construction and the implementation of the "Pioneer Plan" for high-quality connotative development.

Professor Qiao Shiyan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a report titled "Research and Application of Synthetic Biology in Animal Husbandry". Professor Li Xihong from the School of Food Science and Engineering at Tianjin University of Science and Technology delivered a report titled "Research and Practice on the Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables in Mobile Cold Storage". The participants engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges, and visited the State Key Laboratory of Food Nutrition and Safety and the Artificial Intelligence Practice Base of Tianjin University of Science and Technology.

During this period, all the participants went to Nankai University for training and learning. Professor Zhao Xin, the dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Nankai University, and Professor Wang Shuo, the vice dean of the Institute of Public Health and Health, respectively delivered wonderful reports on "Artificial Intelligence and Biological Breeding" and "Food Nutrition and Health". Subsequently, the trainees went to the patriotic education base of Nankai University and the Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall for on-site teaching. In addition, the participants had in-depth exchanges on the innovative development of bio-based fiber materials, the practice and innovation of vegetable biological breeding, and the fifth scientific research paradigm driven by artificial intelligence in Yifu Building of Tianjin University of Science and Technology. They also conducted on-site teaching at the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Germplasm Center of Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences. After three days of concentrated study and on-site teaching, the participants gained a lot.

Since 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has been actively communicating and coordinating with the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Ministry of Finance to promote the establishment of the "Shennong Talent" program, which is open to the whole country and serves the agricultural industry. The study of national conditions aims to enhance the understanding of national and agricultural conditions among scientific and technological talents, guided by the strategic demands of the country, and clarify the important mission and responsibility shouldered by agricultural scientists. Through the training, the political awareness, political responsibility and political commitment of young backbone members will be further strengthened. They will adhere to the "Four Orientations", serve the major interests of the country, and grow and become talented in promoting high-quality agricultural development, facilitating rural revitalization and accelerating the construction of a strong agricultural country, making contributions.
