On March 22nd, the "Precision Nutrition and Food Intelligent Manufacturing" K11 Special Seminar of Tianjin University of Science and Technology was successfully held in Room 337 of Yifu Building at the Binhai Campus. Vice President and President of the University, Lu Fuping, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Relevant officials from the Graduate School, School of Food Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Automation, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Light Industry Science and Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, and School of Science, as well as some key research personnel and teacher representatives from these departments participated in the event.
This seminar focused on the core tasks of the university's "15th Five-Year Plan" construction, based on the cutting-edge development direction of the food discipline and industry demands. With the core goal of resolving the bottlenecks in interdisciplinary integration construction, establishing cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation platforms, and exploring new paths for interdisciplinary integration, multiple theme reports and in-depth discussions were carried out.
In his speech, Lu Fuping pointed out that interdisciplinary integration is the only way to solve industrial technical bottlenecks, produce high-level landmark achievements, and enhance the core competitiveness of the discipline. He emphasized that advanced productive forces should be empowered to upgrade local traditional industries; multi-disciplinary integration should be carried out to highlight discipline characteristics and differentiated development, forming a sustainable innovation path; in-depth communication and cooperation with enterprises should be established to build an innovation consortium, making scientific research truly implemented and put into practice; international cooperation should be strengthened, actively learning and absorbing advanced foreign technologies, and deepening research to break through foreign high-end technical bottlenecks; the mentor system should be implemented in place, actively changing teaching and talent cultivation methods, with the goal of commercialization and contribution to the discipline, optimizing the research topic selection for graduate students.
At the meeting, the principal responsible person of the Food Science and Engineering College systematically introduced the construction background, direction and content of the "Food Intelligent Engineering Interdisciplinary Center", and clarified the task goals of the center for the next five years.
In the thematic presentation session, Professor Chen Ye, Professor Wu Tao, Researcher Liu Xia and Associate Professor Geng Weitao from the Food Science and Engineering College respectively presented reports on the cross-disciplinary research paths for food engineering (mechanics) issues, the cross-disciplinary integration paths of precise nutrition and artificial intelligence, the cross-disciplinary integration paths for quality assurance, and the cross-disciplinary integration paths for future food. They showcased the research achievements of each team in related fields and proposed research directions for interdisciplinary integration.
In the in-depth discussion session, relevant responsible persons from the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Automation, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Light Industry Science and Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and Materials, and School of Science from the university introduced the research directions and contents of their respective colleges, and exchanged and discussed the opportunities and directions for interdisciplinary integration in areas such as automatic control, high-fidelity model establishment, digital twin technology development, process and new material development, food packaging materials and food equipment development.
The convening of this seminar further clarified the construction direction of "precise nutrition and food intelligent manufacturing", established a regular communication platform for multi-disciplinary collaborative innovation within the university, consolidated the strong synergy for cross-disciplinary integration, and laid a solid foundation for the high-quality construction and implementation of subsequent innovation consortia.
