Biography

Dr. Zesheng Zhang is a Professor of the college of Food Engineering and Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology. Prof Zhang completed Bachelor and Master Degrees from Tianjin University of Science and Technology at 1982 and 1987 and joined Tianjin University of Science and Technology at 1982 as lecture and at 1995 as associate professor, respectively. Dr. Zhang received his doctoral degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong at 2002. On the completion of his Ph.D, Dr. Zhang worked as a postdoctoral fellow at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since 2005, Dr. Zhang is employed by Tianjin University of Science & Technology as a professor. He published over 100 scientific papers.

Research Interests

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases have become one of the diseases with highest incidence and mortality rates.  Cardiovascular Disease & Diabetes are a chronic, metabolic disease, Prof Zhang has been conducting research for the prevention and control of chronic, metabolic diseases. Natural product active substance is helpful for the prevention of the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and diabetes. The aim of the study is to find the chemical structure of natural product active substance and evaluation and mechanism of activity. The research on this field led to Prof Zhang with outstanding publications on international journals.
